Tottenham Hotspur paid Ajax £42m to sign Colombia centre-back Davinson Sanchez in the summer of 2017.
Sanchez impressed for Ajax in the Europa League final against Manchester United in the latter stages of the 2016-17 campaign, and after a host of speculation, it was Tottenham that swooped to land the defender.
Sanchez penned a six-year deal upon his arrival in England, but signed a new and improved £70,000-a-week contract in May following a very impressive first season.
The 22-year-old made 40 appearances in all competitions during his first year at Tottenham, and his form meant that Toby Alderweireld could not break back into the team upon his return from injury.

Sanchez has proved to be an excellent signing for Tottenham, and there is absolutely no question that he is a popular figure with the club’s supporters.
